ART FOR LIFE - SOLO SESSIONS FOR ADULTS OR TEENS

For Adults or Teens over 16.  These sessions are tailored to the individual, to help facilitate change.  Bringing awareness of how you are in the present moment, to support making healthy choices and steps towards a purpose-filled, happier future.  As part of the therapy we make use of painting, drawing and other creative processes to communicate and gain new insights.

ART FOR LIFE - PARENT AND CHILD SESSIONS

For parents and children, especially teenagers, using the arts as a language to help ease tension, reinforce playfulness, open up balanced communication and  understanding. We focus on how using the arts can help gain awareness and insight.

Art for Life
Code of ethics

Art for Life has evolved its distinct ways of working according to our own specialism, working in a clinical context where aspects of health, ill health, difficulties and impairments are a great part of what the client brings to the art therapy sessions. In this context, we exercise clinical judgement as a means of practising safely and effectively.

Art for Life code of ethics: It is the art that makes our discipline unique and ultimately a powerful healing force. Material produced during the Art for Life session should be named, dated, and ideally safely stored throughout the therapeutic relationship. In general, the client’s art expressions should be kept within the therapeutic relationship and the disposal of such artwork should be negotiated with the client. We may keep art works within the therapeutic space for the duration of the therapy. However, clients’ requests to take art work home should also be considered on an individual basis as should requests for it to be seen publicly. Ultimately the ownership of the artwork remains with each individual client, as does the manner of its use and disposal. Wherever possible, we obtain written consent from the client before a client or client’s art work is photographed, recorded digitally, video-taped, audio-recorded, or otherwise duplicated. We do not make or permit any public use or reproduction of client art therapy sessions, including dialogue and artwork, without written consent of the clients.

Art for Life Testimonials

Loved every minute of the classes! Brilliantly guided by Milly, I had so much fun and learnt some new skills along the way. Would highly recommend, very relaxed and informal and just a lovely way to spend a morning.

Vicky

It was a great way to have some time out and do something together, just the two of us.  Neither of us are creative, but we were amazed how much we enjoyed ourselves and looked forward to the next session.  Milly was fabulous and we found the sessions really relaxing and fun.  It was like an effortless bonding experience, which was well needed.

Katie and Charlotte (Mother & Daughter)

Milly radiates positivity with a great sense of humour and makes paintings come alive.

ABOUT MILLY GREEN

I launched Art Movement in 1995 as an art consultancy and dining club, representing and exhibiting around 80 contemporary artists in the UK and around the world.  I then ran my gallery for 5 years and now continue to represent my core 5 leading artists.

Following two years art therapy training,  (Advanced Diploma in the Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Applied Arts, Certificate in Counselling Skills and Certificate in Parents & Children at IATE, The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education), I have created, and personally deliver, Art for Life sessions using visual arts, as a language and to express emotion.  The sessions are designed for you to relax, have fun and immerse yourself in creativity, aiming to promote happiness and wellbeing, particularly in helping Parents and Teenagers reconnect.

Painting, drawing, mixed media, words and movement are explored to open up curiosity and imagination.

I continually and consciously adapt Art Movement to suit the climate and believe that this type of exploration, Art for Life, seems more relevant now than ever.
