Ossicle Vessel
Ossicle Vessel, ceramics
My work explores the connections between people and plants, leaning into the humour and unsettling qualities of distorted human forms, like roots echoing the twisting shapes of intestines, or petals stretching and warping like elongated facial features.
Using clay, a material as adaptable and fragile as both flowers and faces, I aim to push the boundaries of natural harmony, revealing the unsettling beauty in imperfection.
Each piece captures a moment where symmetry begins to unravel, reflecting the subtle asymmetry present in every human face, where a flower’s delicate balance meets the surreal humour of a misplaced limb or exaggerated twist. Pale blue and green stoneware vase made up of a symmetrical composition of ears, tongues noses and fingers. Inspired by the relation of plants and people, drawing on imagery from orchids.
