Earthbound Thought is a piece created through experimentation with movement, exploring how clay and metal can be pushed to work together harmoniously. I made the work during a period of uncertainty about myself and the direction of my practice. This sense of instability is reflected in the figure, which is composed of multiple heads connected only by wire, linked together like chains. The suspended and fragmented structure suggests feelings of emotional weight, internal conflict, and the struggle between connection and restraint. By combining the fragility of clay with the strength and tension of metal, I wanted to create a piece that feels both delicate and uneasy, capturing a moment of transition within my practice and personal mindset.
