MA Sculpture, Royal College of Art
Medium: Butterfly pea powder, charcoal, beetroot powder, turmeric, paprika, spirulinaand Jesmonite AC100
Cast in one piece from a two-part mould, using Jesmonite mixed with natural pigments. This ongoing
series is based on scans of previous casts, developed through a repeated process involving 3D scanning, digital modification, 3D printing, mould making, and casting, allowing each stage to influence the next. Each piece is unique, with the materials guiding the form and outcome. While the work moves between digital and physical stages, variations emerge through casting itself, as material behaviour shapes the final result. The natural pigments continue to shift over time through exposure to light and changing environmental conditions, allowing each sculpture to remain in a state of constant flux.
Through these layered processes, the works explore the tension between control and instability, in which materials act not simply as passive matter but as active participants in shaping the outcome.
£300 or £2000 for full set
