Butcher is an innovative Artist illustrator, particularly well known for his work in the Times ‘How to Spend it’magazine. Since graduating, he has carved a unique career in the UK and abroad for his stunning illustrations for leading publications and companies including the Financial Times, The Economist, Phaidon Books, Moet Hennessey and the Wall Street Journal amongst many others. His work is in constant demand both in the UK and in the USA. He has completed several important public and private commissions & exhibited widely in group and solo shows since graduating from Maidstone College of Art. His aim has always been to strive to make the idea the focus of the illustration to tell the story. His method of working begins with sketching and re-drawing an idea with good old -fashioned pencil and paper. When he is happy with the composition and layout, he takes the sketch into Photoshop where he creates the colours and graphic line. This lengthy stage is where he develops the work until it’s finished. The image is then output as a giclee print onto museum quality German Hannemuhle archival paper. Each print is numbered and signed by the artist.
